A New Option For Treatment of Keratoconus

For patients living with keratoconus, a progressive thinning and weakening of the cornea, which can result in significant visual loss and may lead to corneal transplant, we are proud to offer a new therapeutic treatment, Avedro’s corneal cross-linking. This follows their recent FDA approval for the first and only therapeutic treatment for progressive keratoconus for patients aged 14-65.

Until now, the only treatment options available for post-LASIK ectasia and keratoconus have been aimed to treat the symptoms, rather than targeting the progression many patients experience. Avedro’s corneal cross-linking treatment is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that slows down the progression of keratoconus and corneal ectasia, and may eliminate the need for a corneal transplant.
