Dr. Paul G. Galentine, ophthalmologist and corneal specialist, retires March 31, 2017 after 32 years of practice. We are incredibly grateful for his service and know that he has touched the lives of countless patients, developing lifelong friendships with many.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy as a Trident Scholar, Dr. Galentine received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He served his medical internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital and spent one year as a general medical officer for the U.S. Navy. A three-year ophthalmology residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital was followed by a fellowship in Corneal and External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
He was Director of Cornea Service at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine. While in the Navy, he was part of an International Eye Foundation team and performed eye surgery in Egypt. He was also a flight instructor for the Naval Flight Training Command.
