The “Top Docs” are selected based on a peer survey conducted by the magazine’s editorial staff. The online survey asked physicians with active medical licenses in Cabarrus, Gaston, Mecklenburg and Union counties: What doctor would you call if you or a loved one needed medical care? Doctors could not vote for themselves.
Dr. Krug was similarly honored in 2012 and 2013. A specialist in glaucoma and diseases of the anterior segment, Dr. Krug is the current chairman of the ophthalmology department at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Weidman also made the list in 2010, 2013 and 2014. He specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, vitreous hemorrhage, macular diseases such as macular degeneration, macular holes and macular pucker.
